Hey folks, sorry that I haven’t released the game yet. High school has been really busy for me. I’m basically done with the core game, the only issue I’m currently facing is getting the game’s cutscenes to work on the web.

It turns out that Unity WebGL doesn’t have proper video support. The only way to play videos is through the use of urls from an external server. I’ve attempting to use GitHub to host the cutscenes, but it doesn’t work all the time and when it does, it loads very slowly.

I’ll try my hardest to get these issues resolved. If I somehow can’t, I’ll remove the cutscenes from the web version of the game and replace them with a story description. I’ll then add the cutscenes back to superior PC version of the game that I’ll host on Itch.io.

In the mean time, here are the two cutscenes I’m talking about.

Gee, it’s been awhile hasn’t it?

Project Sweatshirt is now about 80% complete. All that’s left is artwork and polishing.

I’ve also just realized that I’ve done a horrible job at explaining what this game is all about.

Project Sweatshirt is a fast action platformer where players will have to speed through 7 levels while testing their reflexes before the timer runs out. Basically Rubikour 2 (Even though I have been working on this game for almost 2 years).

The game stars 14 year old, Ruby Busher. A shy, quiet girl that lives in Plotonia; A dystopian city that sits in the sky where she and others are severely oppressed and controlled.

Currently, the dictator has found out that the sweatshirt Ruby wears is the key to ultimate power. He decides to send off his army of V-bots after her to take the sweatshirt for himself. Ruby must rush to escape from the city and head to Loto, the mysterious abandoned, lush land below the city.

Update 10/17/2022: Here's some gameplay for those interested. (I already know that nobody will likely see this at the time, but I'll keep this up for historical purposes)

Unfortunately, all of the data for Project Sweatshirt got corrupted a few days ago. Yes, all of my work is now gone with no backups. Fortunately, I've been able to restart the project and it's going well so far. That means Project Sweatshirt is slated for a release in October of this year (hopefully). Stay safe, stay chill.

Well unfortunately, I won't be able to release Project Sweatshirt by August for SAGE. On the plus side I'll be able to add things like cutscenes. I'm excited to show Newgrounds what I've been working on. I don't want to be known for those crappy animations I made in 2019/2020.

I also plan on releasing a brand new animation as soon as I can get a device to run flash on (I only have a chromebook). Throughout my hiatus, I made multiple animations in Wick Editor instead of FlipaClip. But most of them weren't finished due to them not meeting the quality I wanted for Newgrounds. One of them, which was worked on throughout late 2019 to early 2020 was finished but didn't have sound effects. I didn't release it because Wick was lagging so bad due to its length. Right now I've started adding sound to it, but I won't release it on here since I believe I have grown beyond my skill from back then. I'll upload it to my Youtube channel instead.

Well anyways, I wanted to just give out an update to Project Sweatshirt and why I haven't released anything. I want to make sure I can show the best of my work. Remember to stay awesome and stay chill. This is Derpydino17, signing off.
